Orbeez - Orbies - Orbees: Growing Gel Balls
You may have typed in Orbies or Orbees or even Orbis, but chances are you are really looking for Orbeez.
They are tiny hard beads that are water absorbent. Simply soak them in water for three hours and each bead will swell to 100 times its original volume and become a squishy squashy ball.
These little spheres provide kids with an opportunity to learn about science, math, shapes, colors and textures through play, plus hours of entertainment without a TV set or video gaming system in sight.
What do you do with Orbeez?
Each kit comes with an activity booklet, but kids will have much more fun making up their own ideas.
The kits each come with a play tray which is essentially a thin plastic play with indentations for the Orbeez to sit in to stop rolling around.
To an adult this may seem a little lame, but to a kid it is a tool for creativity.
They can position different color Orbeez in the tray to create shapes, pictures and repeating patterns.
When your kids are done playing with the Orbeez you can save them for later or put them to use.
If you put them in the bottom of a vase of flowers, they will slowly release water and keep your cut flowers looking fresh.
Or you can put your Orbeez in soil under plants and they will soak up water then slowly release it back into the soil during dry spells to cut back on the amount you need to water your plants.

Are Orbeez safe? Can they be toxic or dangerous?
Orbeez are not recommended for children under the age of three. As with many small toys, there is the danger of choking if small children put Orbeez in their mouth, making the toy unsuitable for very small children.
They should not be swallowed, but in the case of accidental ingestion, they are non-toxic. From the manufacturer's website:
"Tests have also shown that Orbeez do not break down in the digestive tract, do not stick together and are not absorbed into the body. They are eliminated through the natural digestive process. If you have any concerns or doubts, please contact a medical professional immediately."

Do Orbeez dry out? Can I re-use them?
Hydrated Orbeez can be stored in a closed container, out of the sun without drying out. The manufacturer recommends you dispose of them after a few weeks, of if they develop a smell.
They can be dried out in an open container, then stored and re-used. Once they have dried out the balls will shrink back to their original size. Just add more water to make them grow again.

Orbeez are sooooooo squishy

You can clean Orbeez. We do and have had success..no smells or molds. Have used the same orbeez since Christmas 2010. I out about 1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol in the tub with them and swirl in around with the hand and out the lid on and roll them around inside for about a minute, let set 1 minute. Rinse severl times with clear cold water or untill the Alcohol smell is gone.. Kids still playing with them. Throwing them away clean them and save money. But by all means, buy more, stock up. Because in time they will have to be thrown out.

You can buy orbeez mostly anywhere i buyed mine at walmart. U can buy ur's at walmart,target,walgreens,And Cvs... Anyways orbeez are veary cool but once u have them for a long time maybe even a month u get tired of them!
